Mechanicsville High School is one of four public high schools serving Hanover County.
Mechanicsville is located eight miles northeast of Richmond, Virginia.
It is part of the Richmond Metropolitan area, which encompasses the city of
Richmond and surrounding counties of Henrico, Hanover, and Chesterfield.
Traditionally considered a rural community, Mechanicsville has become more
urban during the past fourteen years as evidenced by the increased population
and new industries that have located in the area. Mechanicsville High School is
situated in a cultural community possessing educational and recreational advantages that
promote wholesome development of both students and community. Mechanicsville High School
services approximately. 1600 students in grades 9 thorough 12, and meets the needs of
all students by offering both strong academic and vocational programs.
